March 2025 Procreate Designs

Looking back on the art I’ve been making for the past few months I’ve done quite a bit of digital work.  I started really delving into Procreate when we went on Vacation earlier this year, and I haven’t stopped exploring the possibilities since.   While planning for our vacation in late February and early March of his year I opted to take only my camera and iPad.  No knitting, no sketch book, no art supplies.  This was the first time I’d ever taken only my iPad, with the intent of creating art while on a vacation.  I had a plan to limit my supplies and challenge myself to only using procreate.  My plan worked, I learned a lot about procreate and I enjoyed to process.   The biggest thing I learned was how very freeing being able to sit on the couch or the porch at night with just an iPad and a pencil was.  There was no figuring out where to put supplies, or how to juggle a sketchbook on my lap, or being confined to the table.  The other bonus ...

MFT Color Challenge # 98 - Because You're Amazing

Hello Lovely.  Today's post is for the My Favorite Things Color Challenge # 98 .  The colors are Lavender Fields, Wild Wisteria, Peach Bellini and Coral Crush. For my card, I selected Distress Ink colors that closely match the color palette - Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender, Dried Marigold and Carved Pumpkin. I really love how this card turned out.  The color combo is fantastic. I opted for the same watercolor technique I used for yesterday's Work It Wednesday post.  I started with a piece of Canson Watercolor paper and I used the MFT Because You stamp set and a few dragonflies from my stamp stash.  I stamped "Because You're Amazing" in my trusty VersaFine Onyx Black ink and hit it with the heat gun to make sure it was dry.  I stamped the various dragonflies in VersaMark ink and embossed them with Clear Ranger Superfine Detail embossing powder. Now for the fun part, watercoloring.  I used a wide flat brush to spread clean water aro...

SSS Work It Wednesday - Watercolor

Hello Lovely.  Today's card is part of the Work it Wednesday Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp. The challenge is watercolor and I opted to play with a few of the Distress Oxide Inks from the latest release.  The card inspiration is from Kelly Latevola 's  Watercolor Rainbow Butterflies video that she did a couple of months back. I'm a huge fan of using my Distress and Distress Oxide Inks for watercoloring, so I knew when I saw the watercolor challenge on Work it Wednesday that I'd be using one of these inks for this card. I started this card with some Canson Watercolor paper, stamping a sentiment from the Hero Arts Acts of Kindness stamp set in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and then started laying out my butterflies.  I used an acrylic block for the butterfly stamping rather than a stamp press to make the pattern building easier.  Each butterfly is stamped in VersaMark ink and embossed with Clear Ranger Superfine Detail Embossing Powder. Once my butterfli...
