Looking back on the art I’ve been making for the past few months I’ve done quite a bit of digital work. I started really delving into Procreate when we went on Vacation earlier this year, and I haven’t stopped exploring the possibilities since. While planning for our vacation in late February and early March of his year I opted to take only my camera and iPad. No knitting, no sketch book, no art supplies. This was the first time I’d ever taken only my iPad, with the intent of creating art while on a vacation. I had a plan to limit my supplies and challenge myself to only using procreate. My plan worked, I learned a lot about procreate and I enjoyed to process. The biggest thing I learned was how very freeing being able to sit on the couch or the porch at night with just an iPad and a pencil was. There was no figuring out where to put supplies, or how to juggle a sketchbook on my lap, or being confined to the table. The other bonus ...
Hello Lovely. I'm back with the MFT Big Wave Coloring Background stamp. I'm loving all my background stamps for coloring lately. This time I did my coloring by using Distress Inks for watercoloring.
I started this card by stamping the MFT Wavy Coloring Book Background on to white cardstock using Simon Says Intense Black ink. I smooshed Dried Marigold, Pumice Stone, and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks on to my craft mat and spritzed them with a little bit of water to create the watercolors I used on this project. After the watercoloring dried I went in with a couple of my Sakura Pigma pens to color in a few areas to create a bit of black pop. I cut the colored panel with my favorite Stitched Rectangles dies from Simon Says Stamp.
I completed the card by matting the colored panel with gray cardstock and adhering it to a seafoam card base. I added the black Thanks die cut using the Paper Smooches Thanks Word die for the finishing touch.
Thanks for swinging by today. I'll be back tomorrow with some really cute stitched tag cards.
