March 2025 Procreate Designs

Looking back on the art I’ve been making for the past few months I’ve done quite a bit of digital work.  I started really delving into Procreate when we went on Vacation earlier this year, and I haven’t stopped exploring the possibilities since.   While planning for our vacation in late February and early March of his year I opted to take only my camera and iPad.  No knitting, no sketch book, no art supplies.  This was the first time I’d ever taken only my iPad, with the intent of creating art while on a vacation.  I had a plan to limit my supplies and challenge myself to only using procreate.  My plan worked, I learned a lot about procreate and I enjoyed to process.   The biggest thing I learned was how very freeing being able to sit on the couch or the porch at night with just an iPad and a pencil was.  There was no figuring out where to put supplies, or how to juggle a sketchbook on my lap, or being confined to the table.  The other bonus ...

Scraps to Tags

In an effort to do some stash busting and use up some of the little bits, I seem to hoard, I created a few of these cute little Hello Tags.  They'll be great to use as is or to add as an embellishment to another project.

Inked Inspirations: Scraps to Tags

I started by creating a party on my desk with some word and tag die cuts.  I used the Stitched Tags from My Favorite Things.  I just recently purchased these, and I can tell you they will be well used.  I just love all the sizes and the stitched detail of these dies.

I used my Xyron sticker maker to add adhesive to the back of the "hello" die cuts.  All of the tags I cut were from some embossed paper scraps in my stash.  Keep in mind I rarely toss scraps.  When I trim a panel to create a card the scraps are tossed into a basket on my desk.  These little scraps are perfect for creating these tags.

Once the "hello" was added to each tag I used my eyelet setter to punch the tiny hole for the string to be attached.  I'm going to share a little secret with you - the pink tweezers aren't craft tweezers, they're for eyelash extensions.  The tip is super fine and pointy.  I love them.  While they aren't reverse locking like most craft tweezers I LOVE them!!  Did  I mention that I love them?

I originally stopped with the little tag and added the string, but it didn't look quite finished.  I cut a few of the next size tag and a few of the larger Stitched  Pennants from Verve Stamps.  I pulled the strings back out, marked and cut the tiny holes in the larger pieces,  and adhered the smaller tag at a slight angle on the larger tag.  I used my awesome tweezers to pull the string through my tiny holes.

I really think this was a great way to stash bust some scraps.  I created some really cute little tags, that I'm going to drop in the mail to my crafting pal.

I hope this inspires you to dig through those little bits and build some cute embellishments for your projects.  If you enjoyed this project and would like to see more like it, please leave me a comment below.
