Bouquet #4 - February 2026

Are you ready for Bouquet #4?  This one is bright and bold and out of my usually color comfort zone.  I’m tend to lean toward more muted tones, more greens and blues with a splash of corals.  That’s not what this one is about, it’s punchy and loud and in your face.  I found the inspiration from this pin and ran with it, adding using my own style.  What surprised me most about it, is how much I LOVE IT!  It pops and tells a story.

Bouquet #4

Let’s talk about building color palettes for a hot minute.  There are a few different ways to automatically build them in Procreate, but when you choose one of the automatic options it will fill every space in the grid of 30 squares.  Rarely do I used all 30 colors in a palette, and when I say rarely I mean mostly never.  With this one I pulled the inspiration pic and used the color dropper tool to build a custom palette.  I picked the colors that really popped and caught my eye.  This gave me a palette of 22 colors and I can say I used about half of them, plus black and white.

While Hot pink is not one of the colors I usually gravitate toward, it is the star of the show.  Pink kind of fell off my radar when I fell in love with the colors of the sea so deeply that they’ve taken over my wardrobe, but that’s a story for another day.  The pink in this piece is what makes it speak out loud and catch the eye.  Bright colors and interesting textures made this a challenging piece to create.

Bouquet #5 brings limited color palettes to the party…. See you next Tuesday!
