Looking back on the art I’ve been making for the past few months I’ve done quite a bit of digital work. I started really delving into Procreate when we went on Vacation earlier this year, and I haven’t stopped exploring the possibilities since. While planning for our vacation in late February and early March of his year I opted to take only my camera and iPad. No knitting, no sketch book, no art supplies. This was the first time I’d ever taken only my iPad, with the intent of creating art while on a vacation. I had a plan to limit my supplies and challenge myself to only using procreate. My plan worked, I learned a lot about procreate and I enjoyed to process. The biggest thing I learned was how very freeing being able to sit on the couch or the porch at night with just an iPad and a pencil was. There was no figuring out where to put supplies, or how to juggle a sketchbook on my lap, or being confined to the table. The other bonus ...
This cute stamp set from Trinty Stamps was so much fun to color. I created three cards from this set and there will be more in the future.
Supplies Used with Affiliate Links:
The first card was created solely with the Mr. Snailman stamp set and the grass and cloud stencils from Newton's Nook. I picked traditional colors for the Snailman with blues and reds and added texture to the grass with layers of Copic marker.
The second two versions were created with the thought of someone thanking their mailman or postal worker for the service they provide their community. Our Post Office has been through a lot of things in the last year and our community has banded together to support our Postmaster and her staff. These cute could be sent to that hard-working staff thanking them for surviving 2020 while continuing to provide us with daily mail services.
I combined Mr. Snailman with the Picket Fence Studio Small Ways to Say Thank You set. I'll be honest I like the grass more in the first card than I do in the other versions. I tried laying distress inks to create the grass and should have added the additional details of Copic markers.
I might need to play with some valentine's Day card ideas using this cute guy. Here are the supplies I used for making these cute cards.
