Looking back on the art I’ve been making for the past few months I’ve done quite a bit of digital work. I started really delving into Procreate when we went on Vacation earlier this year, and I haven’t stopped exploring the possibilities since. While planning for our vacation in late February and early March of his year I opted to take only my camera and iPad. No knitting, no sketch book, no art supplies. This was the first time I’d ever taken only my iPad, with the intent of creating art while on a vacation. I had a plan to limit my supplies and challenge myself to only using procreate. My plan worked, I learned a lot about procreate and I enjoyed to process. The biggest thing I learned was how very freeing being able to sit on the couch or the porch at night with just an iPad and a pencil was. Hello Lovely. Here we are to Tuesday and day two of my week of Halloween. I had a lot of fun using this Creepy Cute stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. This is card number two and there are more to come. Let's get into today's card.
I started with my new favorite paper, Neenah Solar White #80 cardstock. I cut a mask from Inkadinkado Masking Paper using my Stitched Oval dies from Simon Says Stamp. I centered my mask on the upper part of my panel and adding some ink blending. I used Distress Oxides in Seedless Preserves and Carved Pumpkin, adding a little bit of Black Soot around the top edge of the card. I added a few water splatters to add texture. I'll be honest, I had a bit of ink bleeding around the edges of my mask and the easiest way to cover it up was to add splatters of the Distress Oxide colors I used.
The Witch Cat was stamped in Gina K. Amalgam ink and I did a bit of Copic coloring to match my color pallet. I grounded the cat by adding a bit of a shadow just under her. I stamped the bat and the sentiment using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. To complete the card I added the panel to a white card base and added a bit of Spectrum Noir Clear Shimmer pen to the kitty's hat and some silver gel pen to the buckle.
