Looking back on the art I’ve been making for the past few months I’ve done quite a bit of digital work. I started really delving into Procreate when we went on Vacation earlier this year, and I haven’t stopped exploring the possibilities since. While planning for our vacation in late February and early March of his year I opted to take only my camera and iPad. No knitting, no sketch book, no art supplies. This was the first time I’d ever taken only my iPad, with the intent of creating art while on a vacation. I had a plan to limit my supplies and challenge myself to only using procreate. My plan worked, I learned a lot about procreate and I enjoyed to process. The biggest thing I learned was how very freeing being able to sit on the couch or the porch at night with just an iPad and a pencil was. Hello Lovely. It's Monday and this is going to be the week of Halloween. I made several Halloween cards this past weekend and I can't wait to share them with. You'll notice a theme with this week's cards, beyond the Halloween, I used only three sets to make all the cards this week. Let's get started with today's card.
I started with a Neenah Solar White 80# cardstock panel because I knew I wanted to do some Copic coloring. I cut a square mask from a full stick Post-It note, using my Art Impressions Stitched Squares dies. Then I set about doing some ink blending top down with Distress Oxides in Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber and Crushed Olive.
I removed the mask and stamped the pumpkin from Simon Says Stamp Creep Cute stamp set using Gina K. Amalgam ink. I used my Copics to color him, using simple two color blends. I've listed the colors below. Next, I added the spider and stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I cut my panel using my favorite Stitched Rectangles dies from Simon Says Stamp.
To complete the card I mounted the panel on a black card base. I added a bit of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Bright Gold for the spider's eyes and added some simmer to the jack-o-lantern's eyes with some Spectrum Noir Clear Shimmer pen.
