Looking back on the art I’ve been making for the past few months I’ve done quite a bit of digital work. I started really delving into Procreate when we went on Vacation earlier this year, and I haven’t stopped exploring the possibilities since. While planning for our vacation in late February and early March of his year I opted to take only my camera and iPad. No knitting, no sketch book, no art supplies. This was the first time I’d ever taken only my iPad, with the intent of creating art while on a vacation. I had a plan to limit my supplies and challenge myself to only using procreate. My plan worked, I learned a lot about procreate and I enjoyed to process. The biggest thing I learned was how very freeing being able to sit on the couch or the porch at night with just an iPad and a pencil was. Hello Lovely. Today's card is the fourth card in my week of Halloween cards. I've really enjoyed using this stamp set from Simon Says to make Halloween cards. These images were great fun to color with my Copics.
I started with my new favorite paper, Neenah Solar White #80 cardstock. I cut a mask from Inkadinkado Masking Paper using my Stitched Oval dies from Simon Says Stamp. I centered my mask on the upper part of my panel and adding some ink blending. I used Distress Oxides in Seedless Preserves and Carved Pumpkin, adding a little bit of Black Soot around the top edge of the card. I added a few water splatters to add texture.
The Witch Cat was stamped in Gina K. Amalgam ink and I did a bit of Copic coloring. I grounded the cat by adding gray under her. I stamped the bats and the sentiment using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I cut two banners using the Stitched Sentiment Strips from My Favorite things, one in white and one in black. I stamped the sentiment on the black strip using Versamark Ink and embossed it using WOW Opaque Bright White Super Fine embossing powder. I layered the strips, offsetting the white one to create a shadow. To complete the card I added the panel to a black card base and added a bit of Spectrum Noir Clear Shimmer pen to the kitty's hat and some gold gel pen to the buckle.
