March 2025 Procreate Designs

Looking back on the art I’ve been making for the past few months I’ve done quite a bit of digital work.  I started really delving into Procreate when we went on Vacation earlier this year, and I haven’t stopped exploring the possibilities since.   While planning for our vacation in late February and early March of his year I opted to take only my camera and iPad.  No knitting, no sketch book, no art supplies.  This was the first time I’d ever taken only my iPad, with the intent of creating art while on a vacation.  I had a plan to limit my supplies and challenge myself to only using procreate.  My plan worked, I learned a lot about procreate and I enjoyed to process.   The biggest thing I learned was how very freeing being able to sit on the couch or the porch at night with just an iPad and a pencil was.  There was no figuring out where to put supplies, or how to juggle a sketchbook on my lap, or being confined to the table.  The other bonus ...

MFT Cross Stitch Scalloped Tag - Butterfly

Hello Lovely.  I hope you liked yesterday's stitched tag because I have another one for you today.  Stitching is very relaxing and cathartic for me.  I can watch Youtube videos and still work on a little something at the same time.

Today's card uses the same My Favorite Things Cross Stitch Scalloped Tag and some white cardstock.  I grabbed a pattern from the MFT Printable Resources and stitched the butterfly using DMC size 5 thread in #99.  I just love the way the variegated color worked with this butterfly pattern.  I backed the completed stitching with another of the scalloped tags in white, added some vintage seam binding tape and a bit of gray thread.

I used the Wonky Rectangle dies from Simon Say Stamp to cut some older pattern paper from the Cupid's Arrow pad by My Mindes Eye and adhered it to a white card base.  I added the completed tag.  To complete the card I added the sentiment "you're the best" from the MFT set Because and stamped it onto a stitched gray flag I cut using the Lil' Inkers Stitched Sentiment Flag die.

Thanks for swinging by today.  I really hope you're enjoying the stitching because I have another one coming soon!
