Looking back on the art I’ve been making for the past few months I’ve done quite a bit of digital work. I started really delving into Procreate when we went on Vacation earlier this year, and I haven’t stopped exploring the possibilities since. While planning for our vacation in late February and early March of his year I opted to take only my camera and iPad. No knitting, no sketch book, no art supplies. This was the first time I’d ever taken only my iPad, with the intent of creating art while on a vacation. I had a plan to limit my supplies and challenge myself to only using procreate. My plan worked, I learned a lot about procreate and I enjoyed to process. The biggest thing I learned was how very freeing being able to sit on the couch or the porch at night with just an iPad and a pencil was. Hello Lovely. Don't say I didn't warn you, here we are with one more stitched card this week. Stitched cards take a lot more time than many of the other cards I make, but the stitching is very relaxing for me and it creates an easy escape while I watch my favorite Youtubers.
This card is another version of the baby feet from the MFT Printable Resources page. I love these little feet and this is my third rendition of these. You can see the other two here. I love that the MFT Cross Stitch Scalloped Tag die is versatile, allowing me to use the stitched grid alone. I die cut the stitch grid on kraft cardstock and trimmed it out with my paper trimmer. The baby feet are stitched in DMC size 5 thread in #605.
The rest of the card was pretty simple. I cut two rectangles using the Stitched Rectangle dies from Simon Says Stamp, one of kraft and one of pink polka-dot. I layered the two rectangles onto a white card base.
I added a frame of foam tape to the back of the stitched panel to create a more level panel and added it to the card front. I stamped the word "baby" onto white cardstock using the Honey Bee Flakey Sentiments stamp set and die cut it with the matching die. To give the word a little more dimension I die cut the word a second time and glued the layers together. I added foam tape to the middle of the word and use Ranger Multi Medium Matte to the ends, creating a flat laying word to complete the card.
