March 2025 Procreate Designs

Looking back on the art I’ve been making for the past few months I’ve done quite a bit of digital work.  I started really delving into Procreate when we went on Vacation earlier this year, and I haven’t stopped exploring the possibilities since.   While planning for our vacation in late February and early March of his year I opted to take only my camera and iPad.  No knitting, no sketch book, no art supplies.  This was the first time I’d ever taken only my iPad, with the intent of creating art while on a vacation.  I had a plan to limit my supplies and challenge myself to only using procreate.  My plan worked, I learned a lot about procreate and I enjoyed to process.   The biggest thing I learned was how very freeing being able to sit on the couch or the porch at night with just an iPad and a pencil was.  There was no figuring out where to put supplies, or how to juggle a sketchbook on my lap, or being confined to the table.  The other bonus ...

Casing Pinterest - Prayers & Pattern Paper

Hello Lovely.  I hope you had a fantastic long weekend.  I, unfortunately, I got sick.  I have a head cold...the first and hopefully the only one of the season.  The joys of working in a school environment.  Anywho... I've been in a bit of a rut with a lot of ink blending and tags stitching.  I break ruts by Casing Pinterest.  I have a board - It's All in the Cards where I drop card ideas that inspire me and I turn to this board when I get in a rut or need an idea for the perfect card.

The inspiration for these cards came from one I've had pinned for a while from the lovely Laura Bassen.  I love Laura's clean and simple style.  Her card had a hand stamped plaid background and she did some partial die cutting and stamping with the word prayers.

For my cards, I opted for some pattern paper, as I'm trying to shop my stash and use some of the hoards of pattern paper I have.  I also die cut the word "prayers" from black cardstock and layered it partially onto the white sentiment strip that I popped up with foam tape.  I also switched up the sentiments I stamped with the prayers.  I used one 6x6-inch piece of paper and got two cards.  Love it when I can stretch papers and get a twofer.

Thanks for swinging by today.  I'll be making more of these cards from my pattern paper stash.  I hope you're inspired to shop your stash and make those card ideas you've been hoarding on your pinboards.
