Looking back on the art I’ve been making for the past few months I’ve done quite a bit of digital work. I started really delving into Procreate when we went on Vacation earlier this year, and I haven’t stopped exploring the possibilities since. While planning for our vacation in late February and early March of his year I opted to take only my camera and iPad. No knitting, no sketch book, no art supplies. This was the first time I’d ever taken only my iPad, with the intent of creating art while on a vacation. I had a plan to limit my supplies and challenge myself to only using procreate. My plan worked, I learned a lot about procreate and I enjoyed to process. The biggest thing I learned was how very freeing being able to sit on the couch or the porch at night with just an iPad and a pencil was. There was no figuring out where to put supplies, or how to juggle a sketchbook on my lap, or being confined to the table. The other bonus ...
Hello Lovely. Today's cards are one more round of Stencil Masking and Ink Blending. I hope you haven't grown board yet, as I really do love this technique. I was inspired by these cards from @a_country_home over on Instagram. She used stamps and Copics, I opted for stencils and Distress Ink.
For each heart, I used a handmade stencil cut using acetate and KiaserCraft Nesting Heart dies and my Tim Holts Flourish stencil.
For this one, I used Distress Ink In Peacock Feathers and Ground Espresso. I layered the heart stencil onto the white panel and taped it in place, then I layered the flourish stencil over top. I applied Ground Espresso first, then removed the flourish stencil and applied Peacock Feathers over top. The heart stencil was then removed and the "I adore you" sentiment was stamped onto the panel using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink in Hot Fudge. The white panel was then cut with my favorite Stitched Rectangle die from the Simon Says Stitched Rectangle die set, foam tape was added to the back and it was mounted on a pool colored card base.
For this one, I used Distress Ink In Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso. I layered the heart stencil onto the white panel and taped it in place, then I layered the flourish stencil over top. I applied Ground Espresso first, then removed the flourish stencil and applied Gathered Twigs over top. The heart stencil was then removed and the "Sending Love" sentiment was stamped onto the panel using VersaMark Ink and embossed with Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder. The kraft panel was then cut with my favorite Stitched Rectangle die from the Simon Says Stitched Rectangle die set, foam tape was added to the back and it was mounted on a chocolate colored card base.
Thanks for swinging by today. I hope you've enjoyed the many variations of stencil masking I've done over the past couple of weeks.
