Looking back on the art I’ve been making for the past few months I’ve done quite a bit of digital work. I started really delving into Procreate when we went on Vacation earlier this year, and I haven’t stopped exploring the possibilities since. While planning for our vacation in late February and early March of his year I opted to take only my camera and iPad. No knitting, no sketch book, no art supplies. This was the first time I’d ever taken only my iPad, with the intent of creating art while on a vacation. I had a plan to limit my supplies and challenge myself to only using procreate. My plan worked, I learned a lot about procreate and I enjoyed to process. The biggest thing I learned was how very freeing being able to sit on the couch or the porch at night with just an iPad and a pencil was. Hello Lovely. Today's card is a shift with the changing seasons. While I'm not ready for Fall, it's coming anyway. I'll admit I struggle with this one a bit, probably because I'm just not ready to let go of summer. Onto the card.
I started this card with some die cutting several layers. I used the Pinked Edge from Papertrey Ink, Stitched Rectangles from Simon Says Stamp, Postage Stamp Edge Frames from Simon Says Stamp, My Favorite Things Die-Namics Falling Leaves, and Stitched Pennants from Verve. Lots of cutting to create the layers. I inked the leaf panel with a bit of Distressed Ink in Rusty Hinge, Crushed Olive, and Brushed Corduroy, then layered it onto the orange polka dot paper from my scrap stash. I added foam tape to the back before layering it on the pale orange, which I adhered to the kraft card base. To finish the card I added a kraft leaf inked with Distress Ink in Rusty Hinge and Brushed Corduroy, then layered on the sentiment pennant stamped with "Autumn Blessings: from the Simon Says Ornate Leaves set. This was really a simple card to create, as it is mostly die cut layers.
